Hi ) Does anyone use this library? How it compare to Cinematic Strings? I’ve heard demos on youtube and Spitfire site and really impressed by this sound-simply Monsterous))
I’ve always been interested in this one but never used it; I’d be interested in feedback too. At at the mo I’m saving up for VSL Dimension Strings.
QL Hollywood Strings are brilliant, I just want to beef them up.
I’m pretty impressed by SonoKinetic’s Da Capo as well, that was pretty cheap and has some great string sounds in it for layering.
delgibbons, Yes Hollywood String have superior sound too, But I’m a little afraid of Play engine, some people have problems with that , some not.
I’m using Cinematic Strings now and this is great library very frindly – but overall sound is very recognizable)
You may give a try to Project Sam Symphobia (1&2), the sounds is impressive and they have lots of articulations. Or to LA Scoring Strings.
Am I right thinking that the Spitfire samples are just ‘Phrases’ almost like using something like Dance E-Jay. You dont write in the individual notes, instead you just trigger a sequence of phrases.
Perhaps it has changed or it was a different Spirtfire string pack I was looking at.
Albion has true legato patches, I think its the other ones that are pre-recorded phrases
Ah I see! I use LA Scoring Strings and the odd bit of EastWest QLSO Gold if needed. Really cannot fault LASS, will leave a hole in your wallet though!
I think symphobia is great(overpriced as well), but where is legato patches???..Lass have pretty good in your face shorts and sound can be tweeked and mixed in the way you want (there is no large hall mics and other stuff ), Daniel James from youtube mixed this shorts with symphobia to get big staccatos.
I think about albion 1 & 3 – because of a sound and i like the way how that team work.
Check their grand cimbalon library – simply the best))
