Saw it last night and i can say i enjoyed the movie since i had no other expectation than a LOTR type of movie, some cliche’s some and some, however I liked it.
What i didn’t liked it though was the terrible 3D 48fps motion which i hateeeed. It looked like a cheap B movie or a theater play. I honestly wanted to leave because of this. Where was that fairy tale image. I look forward to see it again on a regular 24fps.
I did like it, but not as much as lotr – I feel the hobbit is much more “family friendly”, even tho there were loads of kills. I thought it was a bit boring.
I also watched it in 3D HFR, and I’d rather not watch a HFR movie again. The 3D however was pretty subtle, I like that, not having to face stones or swords thrown directly into my face.
Indeed, Hobbit was written as a “book for children” by Tolkien himself…
Anyway, Tolkien’s genius is true magic I think…
Creating languages, creating such worlds and creatures…
What can we say…
This is magic…
I finally saw it last night! Glad I was still able to catch it in the cinemas.
I enjoyed it. I am not a big Tolkien/LOTR fan. Never read the books, but I did enjoy the LOTR movies.
I was expecting to revisit the LOTR world, and so it was! Nothing bad in being to similar. It was really nice to travel again to those wonderfull places and see again those characters.
And yes, the music is great! I was humming it, leaving the cinema.
