dammit theres 4019 now
Its like in the beginning there were a lot less files than now so the sales were good, and now files that have sold before sell just because they have already been sold so many times. (aka “sort by sales” rule) Sad, but true.
I am not a top author. I just added my first file in 3 months. It has sold absolutely nothing…
But
My other files have got a great boost this week – showing that buyers may not buy the new file but perhap if the author has got some promise then buyers will check out the rest of the folio.
Also
In the three months I didn’t upload anything my sales have remained steady. Even through December, even though my biggest seller is about 150 sales which aint that high in the sales sort. So I figure there must definitely be a few buyers who search in various ways and discover the less than popular items.
Ofcourse, I am sure there are exceptions to this rule and that there are authors here whose most of the files are really great, much better than my will ever be.
Yep good point, maybe my experience is different to the general trend, but the sheer numbers of buyers that the other guys posted about above must suggest that even if the majority of buyers do the search by sales ranking then there are still enough curious types left over to support those of us who are less popular.
dammit theres 4019 now![]()
There are more authors. 4079 are who sold at least one item. There are lot more without sales.

I think AD authors should get to the next level…
P&K made it first.. combinig a flash file with html, and it sells like donuts
if you look at TF, you see 100 of html and wordpress templates with the Cu3er 3D banner….... it’s getting boring, because of the transitions and cause so much templates have it
P&K just made their own flash banner, and it’s unique, clean and looks awesome
Options:
1: learn HTML
2: I don’t know if you heard it but envato works on a new collaboration feature, where you can team up with a html/WP developer, the money splitt up then to the 2 accounts
for more details of that feature read it here http://blog.themeforest.net/week-in-review/interview-with-the-man-jeffrey-way/
We’re rapidly moving towards offering a system whereby two authors can collaborate on an item, and then have the profits automatically split between their two respective accounts. This has been a hugely requested feature, and one that I’m very excited about. But don’t tell anyone yet!
No need to panic yet AD peeps… from my small sample it looks like something happened in the last two days to make sales on AD fire up again (woot)
Of course I agree that doing some TF templates with our awesome flash stuff is also the way to go.

it may be sad that AD is pretty slow compared to TF, I really hope there will be a separated marketplace for flash template only, too much small / junk file at the moment is the main reason that make AD much less attractive.
Anyway money is not everything, yes ? You are here because you love Flash and you can make money from it. For me Flash is still a superiority in term of visual appealing / versatile interactive that I’ll never have the same joy with html template
I have many ideas for new flash components but it’s not cost effective at the moment

It sounds weird said by you Rimmon, being you a reviewer… are you guys having a confrontation about this situation with the Envato managers?
