Opps. Sorry.

Still, I’m not familiar with who the guy is. But then again, I don’t watch TV.

So what happened to him?

Not to be rude but…

You’re from America and you’re just now hearing about this? And you’ve never heard of Steve Jobs? I find that odd.

I’m sure it’s just a joke

Died of complications due to pancreatic cancer.

Apple University has been announced/leaked/whatever. It’s a corporate education inside Apple to train the companies future executives to think like Jobs. He’s been working on it for years and is based off the successful Pixar model (Pixar University). His legacy will carry on even more with this.

What does me being from American have to do with anything?

That just sounds racist and stereotyping.

I don’t know who the guy is, and I thought it was a community member here who has passed. Then was notified that it was some guy who worked for Macintosh. I don’t watch TV, I don’t have time for that non-sense. I work instead of play.

How in the world could my comment ever be considered “racist”???

I’m American and I can tell you right now that you don’t have to watch TV to know who Steve Jobs is or that he passed away yesterday. You’re a graphic designer, you are obviously internet savvy. It just seems extremely unlikely that you’ve never heard the name.

Also, if you’ve been to literally ANY website in the last 24 hours, it’s probably being talked about. Not to mention if you have a Facebook or Twitter, it’s impossible not to see hundreds of updates about it.

All this being said…if you are trolling, that’s just sad. But if you’re serious, I’m just baffled.

He’s just trolling. Note how he said Jobs worked for “Macintosh.”

I guess I was naive to think people on GR were above that :P

It’s just bad form.

Note:

I was notified that he worked for Macintosh.

I don’t know who the guy is, now I do. Plain and simple.

Also, I do not do Graphic Design for a living, so not sure where those false facts came from.

Be baffled, because unlike most of you, I do not own a TV, nor do I watch TV. I do not visit Facebook like most of you do. I own a cell phone that is over 8 years old with no fancy touch screen.

To say I’m trolling is slander, because that is not true.

I could ask you all who tons of world figures are that you would have never heard of just like me.

So I’m really not sure what the problem is.

I guess it’s considered “trolling” when you’re concerned that someone from this community has passed away.

Someone call the internet police. I’m a slanderous racist apparently.

I apologize for making the assumption that someone who’s created 17 logos to sell on a site created for graphic designers and has over 600 posts on what I would consider a graphic design forum would take offense to being labeled one.

Sorry Digital, but I had to flag your post. You were way out of line there.

The guy clearly doesn’t know who Steve Jobs is. He was concerned that maybe someone from the community had passed. Give him a break. Not everyone on this earth knows who Steve Jobs is. Hell, my brother in the Marines didn’t even know who he was, and he owns an iphone.

@msaadvertising, I don’t think I said anything offensive. I was merely expressing how odd it sounded and in turn was called a racist. But if you felt you had to flag a completely non-threatening post, that’s fine. But now it just looks like I attacked the poor guy when that’s not the case.

Anyway….

OT: RIP Steve. You will be missed but your legacy will live on through Apple.

I understand man.

But I also understand where he might have felt like he was being attacked by a bunch of people calling him a troll. Which was way out of line. The guy doesn’t know Steve Jobs is, so now everyone calls him names? That doesn’t make sense. Clearly he thought someone on the forum had passed away and was concerned, only to find out it was a well known co-founder of Apple.

Also, I believe just by saying “You’re from America and you’re just now hearing about this?” implies a stereotype remark. That’s like saying “you’re black but you don’t eat watermelon and chicken?”

Either way, Steve Jobs will be missed!
