As seen on stock footage category http://videohive.net/category/stock-footage we passed 20,000 items count recently.
Item number 20,000 was approved on 12/12/2012 (AU time).
Nice coincidence!
And the winer who was approved with the item number 20,000 (if my calculations are correct) on this nice date was ….. Dmitro2009.
Congratulations to Dmitro2009 and congratulations to everybody!
Cheers!
Best Regards, Andrey
All that’s left now is to hope that the next “Nice” 20,000 stock items will be on Photodune, where they belong.
Among other “Point & Shoot” items Marketplace rather than a “Think, Plan, Design, Create, Render, Organize, Write Proper Instructions, Give Proper Support” Marketplace
Thank you for congratulations johnnybd.
Cheers!
Best Regards, Andrey
Sorry and excuse my bitterness, Congratulations.
At times where most Template authors here are a bit unhappy with the over flow of Stock Footage in the marketplace – You had opened this thread, pasted a link to the same category at doubt, and advertised/congratulated someone who just happend to upload file # 20,000.
Guess I’m hard to impress, huh?
Congrats!
BTW nice black paws you two.
20 K? Wow! And 10440 Tempates. Good portfolio at VH
Johnnybd, agree. And I am sorry too. We have different products but we are still the one community and here to provide customers what they need. If customer need complex project and found one here – great, if customer need cheap point and shot footage – still good.
GrizzleFX, thank you!
I guess, you’ll be there very soon.
WebRa, yes, I can’t beleave when I come here year ago there were like 3 or 4K of footage.
Best Regards, Andrey

@Johnny… Sarky, as ever.
but a valid point, well illustrated.
Incidentally, interesting fact….
Median average sales / no. of files
Ae projects: 24 /10444
Motion Graphics: 12 / 6891
Cinema 4D: 11 / 213
Stock Footage: 0 / 20263
Yep… 263 stock footage files have been approved since this thread was started 17 hours ago. Over 10,000 files have not made a single sale.

So why are they allowing that much Stock Footage since nobody is really buying them? Always thought Envato was about quality and not quantity. AE Project Files and Motion Graphics are literally getting covered in a pile of Stock Footage files.
So nobody is buying these things, and thus nobody profits from it? Neither authors and neither envato. I think they should reconsider their quality standards in reviewing Stock Footage items.
Do you think an online petition or anything similar will help to get the staff’s attention on this issue?
