Yes, interesting fact but let’s not make decision with simple number like median average. Stock footage is relatevely new area here. 1 year ago there were only 3K now 20K items. Lifespan for stock footage is different. In my experience most items starting to sell not as soon as they released but sometime later. (my items average time of first sale is about 2 month and average fotage sale as of today is 3.5). Also videohive is not much known for stock footage. When we try to google with stock video or stock footage it is hard to find videohive.
Quality is important for sure but quantity is also needed.
Stock footage separation would be great solution but just separation will not solve the issue. To solve it price deverrentiation is needed (to separate point and shot footage from well planned, processed footage with actors and a lot of work done). For $5-6 price other serious stock footage authors will not come here (when their work for sale like 10x on other stock sites).

You’re absolutely right. I’d be interested to produce some high quality stock footage, but not while prices remain where they are.
