Is it me or is every single theme lately a One-page Parallax theme. For god-sake they all look the same. They are SO BIG! I mean, some look nice and all but not all of my clients are Photographers (actually, none of them are). - What ever happened to smaller, boxed themes. You know, Minimal designs? which by the way, when I search for Minimal, I find them tagged as minimal but they still have SOO MUCH!, I know I can remove some of these and customize myself but, I don’t know. I guess I just needed to vent a bit -- Oh, feels much better! :-)

I totally agree man. I think this is a trend everyone copying everyone hehe. Some of us are not.

If you saw one parallax template you’ve seen it all. I think that some of them are nice but where the hell is the originality?

Cheers man

I have been working for a template something like “unique” and “seamless” for two months. I understand you completely. There will be “simplifying complexity”. Promise ;)

I have no idea why someone wants a theme that takes 2+ minutes to load and then crap moving and twisting and parallaxin’ everywhere on everything. Subtle animations, a section that is parallax, I think is fine and can really help (seen some awesome implementations to enhance articles etc) – but yeah… seriously overdone.

I’ve also noticed loading screens like old school flash sites. I’ve no idea why this is thought to be a great idea again, why should I sit for 45 seconds watching a spinning animation to load html… crazy stuff.

I too have noticed a trend in parallax-heavy themes and the sites that animate in content as you scroll. It’s kinda like perfume. Use it subtly and it adds a nice touch, overdo it and have people run away from you :)

Ahhhhhhh! You had to bring up the animate effect on elements as they scroll into view. That stuff drives me nuts. It’s such a gimmick and way overused. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen it used effectively.

The parallax issue is similar. It only makes sense to use it when there is a reason, but it’s so popular right now. The authors are doing it because buyers want it. I can vouch for that. Personally, parallax doesn’t bother me as much because I like big images and it’s a more subtle effect to me.

May be the approval process needs to consider the loading time and performance on browsers for these kind of themes?

I do animated templates but at least they look different than the other 1000 files. Nothing wrong with animated content.

The problem is that this Parallax craze is making people not coming up with unique designs. To me all these templates look the same.

Some look nice and cool but i think i have seen enough of these templates.

My last template i submitted got rejected for taking to long to load and i have seen many of these parallax templates load the same.
