Guys, i need an advice. I have 50 styles with 50 css files. I created a style switcher, but IE sees only these 31 file and ignores other 19. What kind of solution are you using for your themes?
If you have 50 styles that can be switched between, your site should only load one at a time. Don’t load the unnecessary style sheets.
If you are using 50 style sheets that are all required to be loaded on every page, you should be combining them. While IE’s limitations are annoying and file organization is good, 50 style sheets is excessive and will hurt the page load times by requiring 50 HTTP requests.
Most themes use one main style sheet, one style sheet for the “skin” (gets swapped out when options are changed), and possibly one or two others for JS plugins, etc. In general, combine as much as you can into one sheet and don’t load any sheets you don’t need at the time and you should be good to go.
Hope that helps,
You know Russian you can to me help?
Chris, thank you very much!! I just realised that i was working during last 20 hours and when i finished, i just used 50 css files with direct switching inside of html file without replacing css files..
