Just stumbled upon this link – http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplatform/2010/12/developing-air-applications-for-the-playbook-2.html

Just create or Port an APP for Playbook and get the BlackBerry Playbook for free if the app gets approved.

Just read through the Free Playbook Offer (http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/playbook_offer.jsp?IID=DEVBLG11207 ) And the Terms and Conditions again (http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/terms_conditions.jsp ).

I may be wrong, but it appears to be open for all – provided that the application is submitted before the North-American Launch.

Anybody have more insight?

Hi guys I have a quick question, when you register to the Blackberry App World there is a step when they ask you for your paypal account, and there is such info:

Administration Service Fee 1. There will be an initial $200 USD administration service fee in order to complete registration and submit products. For a limited time, the administration fee for BlackBerry App World has been waived. 2. In the event your account is not approved, this $200 USD administration service fee will be refunded. 3. This initial fee will allow for ten (10) product submissions. 4. If you have used all ten (10) product submissions, an additional $200 USD administration service fee will be applied on your next submission, adding another ten (10) product submissions to your account. 5. Multiple versions of the same product will not count as separate submissions. (Example: A product might have a version for the BlackBerry Storm and the BlackBerry Bold) 6. An upgrade to your product, resulting in a submission of new COD files, will be counted against your ten (10) product submissions. 7. Resubmission of a rejected product will be counted against your ten (10) product submissions. 8. Removal of a product will not affect your remaining balance of product submissions.

So this means that right now we don’t have to pay 200$ ? ;O How do you understand this, because if you have to pay the 200$ to submit the app the playbook is not really free….

Ok as I found out we don’t have to pay the 200$, but we have to confirm our identity by filling a notary form and sending it to RIM :0

my understanding is that this is the fee for joining the store… Apple charge $100 p/a for example… it appears as though the fee is being waivered atm so its a good time to join? :)
