I think it would blast users to update their items, so that their items would be visible on Index Page. Something Like that…

What do you think?

Would not work everyone would make minor changes to their product to get extra time on the homepage!

DarkstarDesigns is correct, however I do think they should work on the time items are displayed. Right now for example, the same items are there for a long time, but sometimes they approve so many in a row that a few won’t even last for like 10 minutes.

This would be good but I think the way it is now is the only fair way to everyone even if it is not ideal. If you give fixed amount of time for everyone then the queue would build up quickly.

what if the time is calculated based on the amount of new items uploaded in a week? roughly speaking, lets assume this week we have 280 new items, so next week we would give one day for every 40 items

what about letting the reviewer decide if the update is huge enough to bring it up again to the front page?

Good idea, also they could come up with a set of guidelines to prevent everyone from trying to abuse this system, this would actually encourage authors to work harder on their items

I think everyday more than a hundred items are updated, so it may be useless.

I think it would be useful for the following:

- Only on the front page if the buyer follows you (so it would show up in the top right box)
- And only if it’s so important update that the notification E-mail was sent out too

- First point would eliminate clutter for normal users (who don’t follow you)
- Second point could eliminate spam with the minor update changes

You’re only allowed to make minor changes to your item, so there’s no reason to display it on the homepage again. Just announce updates on Twitter or your website.

It would be much better if Envato emailed buyers when a purchased item is updated, or have a marker or seperate section in Downloads for updated items.
