When my poor brother died in 2008, the family was devastated. i decided to build a memorial site, no fancy cms, just my first time trying to code a site from scratch. a simple no frills site. http://alexcorbin.info/index.html as you can see, it didnt turned very well.i like the look, but its a bloated piece of crap. someday i will have to put it on wordpress or something. but i posted as an example to show what people might need. i wish i had had a memorial template. i think even one or two people who are competent web designers might want to deal with designing a site for a loved one. i just saw someone put up a wedding site template. what a good idea. one thing i was frustrated was seeing a really nice guestbook, i cant believe i how ugly 95% of guestbooks are, no i didnt feel like fooling with the css. but the spam as well was a headache, which is why i love the guestbook in flash. i only found one guestbook that was absolutely beautiful http://activeden.net/item/dbguestbook/7126 and he was super nice and helpful, he even configured and installed it correct. thanks again andrelatino!
anyway to all the resident genius and web artist out there, i hope one or you considers having a memorial template in your porfolio to be there when a hack like me needs one.
