Try Ubuntu, Raleway, Exo, Droid Sans, Bebas Nueu, League Gothic, PT Sans Narrow. This collection covers various styles of fonts and are also popular.

Open sans, karla, helvetica.
You should just try some fonts out on a block of text in your template. It’s fairly easy to quickly import a font family and test it out. It always has a different feel / look to it once you see it on your template rather then the preview you get on google webfonts
