[ Add $2 if you are not using prepaid credits ]
[ Minimum prepaid amount is $20 ]

Hm.., I know its important to have more registered members and buyers off course. But i just thinking if the surcharge would be removed do you think guys there would be not less rational motive for a lot of people to go and “get our items” in an “alternative” way? I know $2 is not much, but sometimes its 50%-75% of an item. And maybe some people say, i dont want to charge $20 just because i want to buy a $4 item. What do you think?

The surcharge is only there if people want to buy a once-off file with their credit card. If a buyer wanted to, they could easily deposit some money and avoid the charge all together.

I think this is already being discussed in the forum.

Staff said that they are working to provide a better and user friendly payment system, better than the current.

I don’t know more details, but maybe we can see something new soon.

Cheers, Rafael Angeline

Yes Mark, i know how the surcharge is works. I already use that as you can see on my badge. Im pointing here for something what i can not write it down, because its not aloud to talk about that “nameless” phenomena. But in my opinion, i think the surcharge could influence that decision when a potential buyer hesitating in between the legal or the “alternative” way for get a single item. And this little diference even if its relatively seems like trivial, it could give that stroke to make the “another” decision.

I think the surcharge is fine, I haven’t seen many people complain about it, so why get rid of it?

True Mike! at least 40% of my sales include the surcharge and I’m sure many authors experience the same.

Who would Complain Mike? Buyers who already has the experience and the trust, they will not complain: They know that already, if they gonna prepay that amount, there will be always something for them they can spend for something. Im talking about people, who just found the site, they want 1 specific item. Dont thinking yet to being a constant buyer. Then he realize what he wanted to buy for $2 or $3 or even $4 its almost the double. Or he have to put $20. So, he might looking for an another way. And there is lot of another possibility out there, as we know…

Thats Interesting Sherman. Most of my sales are comes from Add-ons. I know its not easy to check, but is your 40% comes from a specific item category? Seems like you have a lot of buyers who are not constantly buying items, just on occasion. Probably it because the type of the items?
