Template Browser Testing Forum!?

Just a little suggestion…

Was thinking how handy it would be if we had somewhere we could post live versions of our templates so forum readers could then check the template for browser compatability?

eg. Joe Blog on his 800px IE6 John Doe on his 1024 FF2 etc etc..

@ciaran Or if you’re developing a new template and don’t have access to a specific browser to test it in you could look into BrowserShots, which is an interesting idea, might prove useful to some people.

yeah I don’t think you need others to check for you (expect for certain occasions). With all the resources available you should be able to handle this yourself.

Yeah – you can do all of this yourself. If you’re using a pc, download IE Tester .

It will allow you to view your site in IE5 -IE8. Those are the big ones to worry about – namely IE6 .

I have a really hard time doing IE6 testing on my mac. I have Windows (and most versions of IE), but it’s on Bootcamp so I need to reboot every time I test. I’ve been trying to fix the bugs directly in Windows, but when I’m not used to the workflow it takes forever.

browsershots.org is a good alternative, albeit a little time consuming in the long run (especially when a lot of people are testing at the same time)

I’ve tried Browsershots but have still had a template refused after it.
