We are currently experiencing a few issues with part of our search infrastructure. It is only affecting certain areas and these are:

- Forum Search

- Attribute Browsing

- Tag Browsing

- Payment Message Search

- Parts of the public API

This is a problem with one of the old search engines that we’re going to decommission soon (not the new elasticsearch platform we’re rolling out – that’s all running fine).

Stuff like this is why we’re decommissioning it :S

UPDATE: We are still working on rectifying the issues with some of our Search Infrastructure. In addition to the features Carmen indicated, you may notice that some of the top level menu items are affected as well. We are working hard to rectify the problems and will keep you posted.

UPDATE: Everything that was affected is now 100% working again. :bigsmile:

We were able to spin up a new search index server, and re-index marketplace data onto it. There is some minor clean up to do over the next day or two, but that should be able to be done without affecting site uptime.

Curious, do you guys and girls stay back at the office until issues like this are fixed? Or you’re all ninja enough to fix them from wherever you are in the world?

Tonight we were all in the office. But it depends on when things happen, and where people are. Generally if things start during the work day, we’ll stay there, as we’re all in one place anyway. If it’s evenings, or weekends, then we’ll work remotely and co-ordinate over IRC if multiple people are involved in responding to an incident.
