Does anyone know of an online service where a website demo for a client can be placed securley for a short period of time?

I can’t use my own server because my client is outsourcing the development work and would prefer that the real client doesn’t have to come to my server for a demo, which I can understand.

The perfect solution would be somewhere I can sign up for a secure account for some server space (free from ads and other junk), for a short period of time, say 1 month or so. ftp the website & provide a neutral link to the client.

It doesn’t have to be free, but the cheaper the better.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Donagh.

just purchase a really cheap random neutral domain name and then point it at your server… will only cost a few dollars for a year and you’ll have the facility for other clients as well then..

Hi Enabled,

Thanks for the offer. However I think I’ll go with Matt’s suggestion.

Some webhosts don’t allow just “pointing the domain to your server”. Domains don’t work like that. You can’t just point something.com to anotherthing.com/subdirectory. You have to set it up in the admin panel of your server. And point the domain to your host’s nameservers.
