Does anyone know of an online service where a website demo for a client can be placed securley for a short period of time?

I can’t use my own server because my client is outsourcing the development work and would prefer that the real client doesn’t have to come to my server for a demo, which I can understand.

The perfect solution would be somewhere I can sign up for a secure account for some server space (free from ads and other junk), for a short period of time, say 1 month or so. ftp the website & provide a neutral link to the client.

It doesn’t have to be free, but the cheaper the better.

Anyone have any suggestions?

just purchase a really cheap random neutral domain name and then point it at your server… will only cost a few dollars for a year and you’ll have the facility for other clients as well then..

Some webhosts don’t allow just “pointing the domain to your server”. Domains don’t work like that. You can’t just point something.com to anotherthing.com/subdirectory. You have to set it up in the admin panel of your server. And point the domain to your host’s nameservers.
