Hey everyone,
I really like the high standards all the authors hold themselves to as far as browser testing sites. I’m trying to accomplish that myself.
In the past, I’ve only used browser tested on with my Mac on the latest version of Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. I would then use VMware and IETtester for IE 6 , 7, 8, then Firefox, Chrome, and Safari for Windows.
However, is it worth testing for older versions of modern browsers? FireFox 2, FireFox 3, Firefox 3.5, Firefox 3.6, Safari 4, Opera, Chrome 4, etc. How many users are actually on these still?
Lastly, would you test these older versions on both Windows and Mac?
It would really help if someone could provide a detailed explanation for how go about browser testing. Thanks!
i use windows, and i made myself portable versions of each browser, with VMware ThinApp, and it works like a charm. that is just one method
