This is how an Item page looks like with javascript disabled, Item cannot be purchased:

Also, the bundle banner cannot be closed.

Also SOMETIMES (I can’t find a reason) I see loading icon forever and need to reload a page to see Purchase button. (This is not a my internet connection problems, my internet is good and fast). I used latest Firefox version with JS enabled.

Hi everyone

We are continuing to monitor these changes and are about to add something new for the same 20% of users.

When these users go to add credit after clicking purchase, the “adding credit” step will be done through a simplified modal/lightbox experience rather than using our current deposit page. We’re trying to keep this consistent with the changes to the purchase flow so that the end-to-end process for buyers is as smooth as possible.

For the buyers who deposit through this new flow, we’ll also be completing the purchase for them automatically when they return from the payment gateway (Paypal or Skrill). The depositing experience is not changing for deposits started from the logged-in homepage or the user navigation menu.

Again we will be monitoring the results very closely before we ramp this up to 100% of users.

Thanks

Stewart

Hi again everyone

We are continuing to monitor these changes and are about to increase this test from 20% of users to 50% of users.

If you’re one of the new users to be in the 50% receiving the new experience, we hope you like it.

Thanks

Stewart

Hey Stewart,

Just a quick note here: can you confirm that after initial signup and email verification the buyer is taken back to the item they were original viewing (and not the home page).

Cheerio!

Hi Dave – We haven’t got around to that one just yet but thanks for the reminder. We know it should be fixed.

ah great stuff! Yes I witnessed a new account creation and first time purchase the other day (it was incredibly interesting because I actually had no idea what the process is like these days). After account creation and email confirmation there were two windows open and neither were on the item the user wished to purchase. Had to go searching from the home page again to find it. Glad it’s on the list! Cheers, Dave

Hi everyone

Me again.

Now that it has been over a month since we rolled out the first part of this test, we think we have enough data.

We have seen sustained sales-conversion improvements on all of our major Marketplaces and are confident that this will continue which means that we have hopefully made buyers lives a bit easier and made authors some more sales.

So today we are rolling this out to the remaining 50% of our users who did not have it already (that’s 100% in total). For the new 50%, we really hope you like it too.

A big thanks to Cath, Luke, Arman, Eaden, Gus, Jordan and Sveta/Terry in our analytics team who have all done a great job to get us to this point.

Thanks

Stewart

Couldn’t find this thread before so opened a new one a few days ago to share some feedback. My previous post is below, but now I realize my “suggestions” weren’t just based on my current purchase, but on my recent buying habits instead.

But I still think showing items directly related to the current purchase would lead to more sales. For example, maybe my previous project was WordPress-based, but if my current project is a static HTML site, I’m much more likely to buy based on my current needs as opposed to past purchases for a previous project.

This is a great idea, but the “suggestions” need some work. The item I purchased was a non-WordPress JavaScript item from CodeCanyon, but my suggestions were all for WordPress products (both themes and plugins). So HTML templates and other non-WordPress scripts would have better matched my purchase.

But overall it looks fantastic and hopefully will lead to additional sales. And if you really wanted to take it to the next level, run some special promotions on this page such a 10% discount on any item purchased within the next 24 hours.. basically anything that’s going to keep the customer shopping :)
