Hi there,

I’d like to share you some good stuff to test your website or template, so if you have some good URLs that would be good to share you can post them here :) Maybe you already know some of them but I thought it would be a good idea to gather them in one place.

Markup validators

Of course the markup validators from the W3C for HTML : http://validator.w3.org/ And for the CSS : http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

All-in-one chacker : http://uitest.com/en/check/

Resolutions

Checking in all main resolutions : http://viewlike.us/

This one takes shots of the URL you submit : http://browsershots.org/

The same dedicated to MAC : http://www.browsrcamp.com/

Also this one (for small screens & mobile phones) : http://www.browsercam.com/Default2.aspx

Browsers

Next one is dedicated to IE (yes and also IE5 .5!) : http://my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage

But if you don’t want to install a software for IE : http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/index.php

How to run Firefox 2 & 3 : http://blog.codefront.net/2007/08/20/how-to-have-firefox-3-and-firefox-2-running-at-the-same-time/

Miscealeneous

Loading time : http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/

Browser stats : http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php

And of course all Firefox plugins like firebug, webdeveloper, abduction, fireshot, etc…

Don’t forget http://browserlab.adobe.com/index.html

Also, ie4osx (give it a goole) if you’re on a Mac ;)

Great thread idea, this should be useful to a lot of authors.

Nice list. Does anyone know of a local host where you can change the php version? I sometimes find my wordpress themes have bugs in different versions which I can’t really test for.

The firefox web developer toolbar has an easy way to test at different resolutions… amongst other things.
