The best Ecommerce CMS solution

So I have been asked a few times what is the best e-commerce solution in a CMS . I have no clue as I don’t use them very much. I think it would be between Wordpress with their plug-in or Magento. What is better for an e-commerce site and what has the best flexibility in customization?

You shouldn’t ask “What is the best eCommerce solution”.

You should ask “What is the best eCommerce solution for my purpose”.

And I don’t have much experience with eCommerce except for Zen-Cart which is not the best solution for all sites.

yep depends how much functionality you need. I have had very good results with drupal/ubercart… but its probably not be the best idea if you dont have experience with drupal

I use SUNSHOP from turnkeywebtools

It is 98% customizable because all templates are html based loaded in php

It has by far the best admin area I have seen and the price is great.

If your looking for something you can truly edit its looks Sunshop is probably one of the best.

Editing is done 99% in the html templates and the css and most likely you will not need to tamper with any of the php coding unless you are installing custom external modules

It has product metatag fields so SEO is applied in the dynamic version without the need of creating HTML pages.
