The 'Item has been removed' topic

Hi,

I like to browse and when I find a script which has the potential but isn’t good enough at that time I sometimes still buy it. So I have it and can use it when it has grown.

Unfortunately, lately a lot of scripts get removed while a lot of the scripts are good. Is there a reason why scripts get removed by envato or the author, and don’t you think buyers should get a reason why the script has been removed?

Instead of buying and waiting for updates, you should bookmark it until you are ready to use it.

That’s ofcourse also possible, but a lot of developers here are guys (and girls) who create these scripts in their own time. So I believe it’s also a kind of motivation to buy a script in the early stages….

Depends on the situation. Sometimes scripts will be removed if they are found to have major copyright issues, and other times the author will choose to remove a script for a couple of reasons: doesn’t want to support it anymore, it has problems, or they’re just cleaning up their portfolio.

This is great, but you are taking a risk that the item will never fit your needs. That’s why I tell the author that I bookmarked it so they know that if a certain feature is added than I will purchase. I think that is motivation enough.
