I am trying my best to research how much money you can make on Themeforest, and what would get approved/disapproved. Clearly I am having a hard time with both.
The top 10-20 seem to be able to make a living with there themes… but are they individuals or large organizations? Obviously the bottom of the rung make nothing, but does anyone know a conservative estimate of what an average WordPress developer will make in the first three months, assuming 1 template gets approved each month?
Also, looking at all the wonderful WordPress themes, I notice most are very similar in looks and functionality, especially the top 20. How does one get approved when everything looks alike? Will sites without tons of JavaScript code get rejected just because it is simple in functionality?
Would love to hear some great advice from the real pros on Themeforest.

I am raising a read flag already at the beginning. I’d suggest: prioritize your motivations better. If you are confident in your skills, make a good niche theme, try the water first. Then move on to the money factor.
At least that’s my point of view.
Best of luck,
Boris
Thanks Boris.
