Just a bunch of unboxing pics. The old machine was a 2008 bottom of the line iMac and was hanging a lot recently.
The new machine is a maxed out 21.5” :
- 3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
- 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X8GB
- 1TB Fusion Drive
- NVIDIAGeFrc GT 650M 512M GDDR5
In Australia it only goes up to 2.9ghz on the new 21.5”
Nice machine
strike that… ooh it does too !

I prefer two screens rather than one big one, and a 27” and a second monitor would not fit on my desk. A 27” feels overwhelming to me.

Nice man!
I’ll be ordering me a new 27” in the next few days (I personally prefer the extra large screen) – but what I really want to know is how is that new screen in those things? It’s supposed to be a lot less reflective and just wondered if you noticed a big difference?
Also, did you order from Apple (with all the options) or somewhere like macmall.com (I normally go thru them as no sales tax and cheaper for memory upgrade – but I prob will do myself as the 27” has the little door at the back for memory sticks).
Enjoy the new toy and would like to hear about that fusion drive also

Well I noticed a difference in the screens when I had them side, but now that I’m up and running I don’t notice it, or I’m used to it already… But this speediness of this thing compared to my last one, or even to my MBP with a SSD in it is extremely noticeable. Everything just happens immediately.
I ordered mine straight from Apple. In Illinois, there is tax at MacMall, otherwise I might have gone through them and saved $250. And I wanted to get it this year so I could write it off on my taxes next year
Congratulations. But I like the previous iMac.
Looks very nice indeed, I want one!
Love it !
