Envato has been grown at an unprecedented rate, especially over the last 6 months. As things get bigger and more sites get added to the network, we have to evolve to make sure we’re working as efficiently as possible. That’s why there have been some pretty major staff changes over the last few weeks.
Until now each marketplace has had its own manager. Every time we added a new marketplace, we’d add a new manager with his own set of skills and limitations, who would take a few months to learn the ropes. We’ve now reached the size where this is no longer the best way to go.
Now we have a core team dedicated to all of the marketplaces. The main advantage is the broad range of knowledge that gets shared. For example, I was never good at Twitter marketing, but Jeff was. With the new team setup ActiveDen no longer has to suffer because of my shortcomings. Not only that, but new sites will receive the care of seasoned veterans from day one. Another huge advantage is that we now have a dedicated review team manager. This guy will be in charge of making sure the queues are moving, the quality is high enough, and that authors have all the tools they need.
Here’s the team:
- Lance Snider
- Jeffrey Way
- Mark Broadhuber
- Scott Wills
- Jarel Remick – Review team manager
You may have noticed that a few of the former site managers aren’t on the list, but don’t worry, they’re still around.
Amanda Hackwith, formerly the GraphicRiver manager, is now using her incredible talents to get Rockable press rockin’. It’s only been a couple weeks and she’s already done some great, and much needed, things.
Matthias Andre is staying on 3dOcean, but as an advisor, lead reviewer, and seed content creator. 3dO has so much potential, but I don’t think we’ll see it until someone like him starts filling our library with amazing files.
Sean Hodge will be leaving the Tuts marketplace to Tuts where he’s already proved himself to be a valuable asset. He’ll also be taking over FreelanceSwitch.
All three have done an absolutely stellar job and will be missed. I just hope we can carry on their legacy.
We’re stoked to get started and improve the marketplaces in ways that weren’t previously possible!
Wow! fantastic changes guys! I already expect big things from this team. Congrats to everyone! And thanks for the info Lance!
Thanks for your efforts, guys! That sounds awesome, really great improvements, looking forward to seeing them taking place!
Really like the sound of this, onward and upward!
You know what is the best for marketplaces, if so let it be, congrats all!
Lance knows he better take care of GraphicRiver or I’ll come back to haunt him. Congratulations to the new team for all the hard work they put in already and for the future – 2011 is going to rock!
Growth and change is a good thing! Looking forward to seeing how this impacts the very busy year that will be 2011. Congrats to all of you, and best of luck in your new roles!
That sounds great!
One question, I don’t know if you already said it, but who will be the manager of 3DOcean?
Great team! Will be looking forward to the amazing things/changes happening around the marketplaces!
