I suggest you look into some tutorials on web design, spend some time checking out web design galleries because honestly it doesn’t look as good as you think it does. Looks like this kind of templates.

Sorry if i’m a bit harsh but the sooner you understand that your design skills at the moment aren’t good enough the sooner you’ll get better at it.

Unlike your clients, the reviewers have seen thousands and thousands of designs and are therefore more qualified to judge if a design is good or not.

The reviewers are not mentors, they’re not here to teach web design, they’re here to decide if a design is good or not. If it’s somewhere in the middle they’ll help out, otherwise they would be wasting time. If you want a detailed opinion on a design and how to improve it hire someone to give it to you.

I don’t think it looks good either, I think it looks like many of the other templates on ThemeForest.

So this template here is considered a great design?

It sold over 500 times since August of this year.

It’s a good design. I don’t like a few things in there but i like 90% of it.

The sales are because of the features and because it’s a theme by Kriesi (a well established author who can be trusted).

If design is the only thing that mattered this one would have a million sales.

Agree. It’s all about the name and/or ‘luck’. I’ve seen some super awesome themes with >500 sales and blank templates with a few thousands.

I think Kailoon is the reviewer who will always give you some custom feedback instead of a 100% template feedback.
not only, Kailoon give good feedback in soft rejects, Siddharth and Ivor also gives good feedback when I had problems with margins, paddings I every time got screenshot’s and this is really helpful for me. In Reviewers it’s one problem – compare theme based on all templates in market, not in category uploading. Sometimes there is something new in the category, but in the entire market already popular.

My design skills are excellent, as well as programming. The template I made that got rejected looks awful. What I can’t do is GUESS what the reviewer will accept, and I am frequently shocked to see what gets accepted on here.

“they’re not here to teach web design” – dude, your missing the point. I’m not asking for help with designing. I can effortlessly design literally anything on ThemeForest, and anything that any professional design agency creates (if anything, I think I often OVER-design). I’m asking the reviewers to provide feedback instead of generic answers. Their responses are text templates!

Do you know how many items they review each day? I don’t know the exact number but it’s a lot, that’s for sure. And from all those items most are awful and get rejected, so do you think they have time to explain to all those authors why their design isn’t good?

And how can they explain someone what’s wrong with their design if pretty much everything is wrong?

P.S. Care to show us some of your recent work?
