I’ve been for a while on envato and now i’m thinking about becoming an author, but I have a couple of doubts that are holding me back.

Regarding the tools for theme building:

I’m planing on building a couple of HTML themes but I don’t know if there’s any limitation on which tools should I use to accomplish it. Is there any limitation, for example if I want to use an online or offline tool to make the themes?

Regarding the other author’s graphics and other content.

I was reading the extended license FAQ and Licenses help but I still have a doubt.

As I’m planing on building my own HTML themes, I want to use an icon pack on it.

Is it ok if I purchase one extended license of that icon pack and I sell any ammount of my HTML theme with those icons included?

I have this doubt because i’ve seen some items that advertise that they have other items included for “free” or as a “bundle”, for example a Wordpress theme that includes an Slideshow valued at 15$ or so…

I want to thank you in advance for your time and answers.

Hi, when purchasing a license for a plugin/icons you’ll have to buy and Extend one and contact the author for a permission to use it in your item as far as I know.

You can also use free resources for your theme, just be sure to check their type of license.

And for the tools, Sublime Text will be enough to get you started writing code, it’s simple and very extensible with add-ons.
