We just got our theme disabled, here’s the fantastic explanation why:

1. Post Type: Video does not work. http://envato.d.pr/2Z3Z/1q5xlBPp

2. Please consider this report by one of your customers: “I have to configure Google API key just to avoid a PHP error”

But since:

1. The option is to put the video id not the youtube url (it would say video url if it was to put the url)

2. The issue has been solved quite a couple of updates back

I mean, it was soft disabled because of two “bugs” that don’t exist, sorry to create a post for this but feeling really frustrated and angry, and loosing money! My question is, did the reviewer really look this through? Shouldn’t the author have something to say or have a priority line for these cases?

Because now, most probably will have it disabled for a day.

Am I wrong? :D

Test for http in your input, if found throw an error “enter ID Only

You’re not wrong, but you need to “insure” yourself against input errors like this :)

Yes, I assume it could be more resilient to user misunderstand there but soft disable a theme because of that? :D

I’m surprised you got soft rejected for it! :D

Maybe just a little bad luck, I hope it gets sorted for you really quick :)

if the fields only for youtube IDs you can also check if its a url then pull the id from the url before you save it.

Of course, that’s pretty easy to do but not a reason to disable a theme, I’m powerless now :P

Some time ago I had a theme that was disabled too. Did I got any warning or email? No… And after contacting support I knew the reason: it had some HTML validation errors (a user opened a ticket after me having sent over 45 support emails to him).
It was kind of a joke to me, because most of the best selling themes here have these errors ;)
I understand that “Envato” can’t test all errors/bugs that buyers complain about, but talking to the author before disabling the theme always sounded more fair to me.

Exactly mate! My theme is back up, I made an update, didn’t upload any files and just mentioned it didn’t make any sense. The final story is that I got my theme disabled for about half a day and the theme is exactly the same :p

Just something to improve here that envato should look at I think
