It took me 4 attempts to come up with a logo for my newest theme and even then it was rubbish! Logos are something I am usually pretty decent at but for some reason I just can’t create them for my themes.
Yea, It’s just tricky, I don’t like to spend a ton of time on that piece since most people just put their own (or their client’s own) logo in it’s place but it helps the overall design… I’ve seen some pretty creative ones out there.
I don’t have anything for sale on Envao yet haha, but it doesn’t really take me too long. I usually do a simple text logo, or if I have a good idea it’d take about 10-20 minutes.
i really don’t bother, i worry more about the space I assign for it.
Lets face it, buyers are going to change it almost immediately.

For sure there are more important stuff to worry about:
Whole design, coding, shortcuts, integration in wordpress, ...
But a real bad logo can destroy a really nice design, even when every buyer should know that it can be changed in some seconds.
I need nearly 1 or 2 days for a real logo, but just because I give my clients a detailed style sheet for how they have to use the logo right. For a theme logo I spend just some minutes and use precreated shapes and a nice typo.
it can be a simple logo, and it can look good too, but with simple I don’t mean just text..
also it would be good for the design, if the logo looks similar to the design… for example if you make a minimal theme, make a minimal logo for it
Don’t have an item here yet but for those items that i’m working on now it took me 5 mins, a simple textual logo and just 5 mins to get the font size and the font family fit
I like to add special attention to my logos, so I spend a considerable time (1-2 hours) working on the logo, depending on its complexity.
It’s true that buyers will change it with their own logo after they purchase, but I think it adds a lot of personality to a theme, specially in the live preview.
I’ve even got a person that didn’t want to buy the theme because I didn’t include the .ai file for the logo!.
