Hi,

though I took a lot of precautions, My simple template was rejected.

here is a link – http://www.gunua.com/RandomDotsHTML

So I got the standard rejection response.

If you can give me some more feedback it will be helpful and I will try to improve it.

I tried to put in some different than usual (not so common) stuff in it – as the sliding navigation, boxes with rounded corners, AJAX contact form (though it is getting more common now).

So basically I want to know is – Is it worth spending time in improving this one or I should do something else?

By the way, after rejection mail I realized that it doesn’t play well in IE7 – I know it is a point for rejection, but could it be the only reason ?

Many thanks.

I don’t think it’s only because of IE issues, design can be improved because now it seems to be too basic / no details. What message did you receive in rejection letter?

I even got fans in Singapore :)

Here Iam and here are my hints:

1. Good choice of red tone, but its too much. Set it as a course and not for a complete bg

2. Add a real footer in a dark grey with some options and coloumns

3. Add some slider panels to slide through the pictures (like dots or a next/previous button)

4. Add a hover effect for the portfolio pictures

5. Add other options to the portfolio section like a “sort by”, Vimeo or YouTube integration

6. Use a real tweet script for message integration

7. Change additional informations to a google api map (in contact me section)

8. Use another logo like a cool font and typo

9. Offer more than one colour scheme

10. Style the “Hi there” section under the slider in 3 coloumns with icons and less text

I think you´ve got good chances when you change this parts, because the whole idea is good and can sell well here, but just when you add some more depth and uniqueness into it.

Greetings and good luck

btw Thank you for posting great tips on other ‘rejected-theme’ messages too .. I am sure like me many other people also would be learning from them.

Hey dexterous there is no reason for any thanks. I believe in the community thoughts, that everyone should help each other so he or she can grows with the community and the tasks in the future.

When you or anyone else want to know something about coding, designing or ask for help and hints for a theme which was rejected just send me a mail.

Good luck with it dexterous
