I recently purchased Surreal – Responsive Parallax One Page HTML5 theme and was trying to upload the .zip file to my WordPress editor for my site I’m creating. it wouldn’t upload the file/theme claiming that the style sheet code/file was missing. I checked the package contents and the style sheet code IS in the .zip file. Why does it think it isn’t??
which one did you buy?
If its not WordPress you actually bought an HTML template (as it seems to be the case). You can’t install this on WordPress. If you bought the WP version either download the installable package or unzip and look for the theme file.http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/269/0/my-wordpress-theme-isnt-working-what-should-i-do
I didn’t realize that there was a separate wordpress version let alone that it NEEDED to be a wordpress version. I’m a beginner at all this (obviously). I’ve already bought the HTML5 version because it was the only one that showed up when I wanted to purchase it. Do you think I can get a refund for the one I bought in exchange to buy the one I need?
You can try issuing a support ticket to Envato about this, but from what I know, refunds are not mandatory for purchase mistakes. If the template you have bought was under “Site templates”, let alone the fact that it states from the title that it’s a HTML template and not a WordPress theme, I don’t think you have much of a case there. No harm in trying the support though.
Well it’s not likely to get a refund due to the nature of the file (being a digital good and all) but please raise your issue with Envato Support and see what they can do for you. http://support.envato.com. Tip for feature experience browse the categories as displayed in the main navigation.
