Hi,

I hope the title got your attention.

Since the volume of themes/templates( or whatever you called) are growing fast, it’s time for the search function in this website become something useful. With all the money that themeforest are doing, there are not excuse to not have human power to improve the searching.

Mostly people that buy the themes are busy workers, so it’s not convenient we need to spend hours to search for a theme. Another tip. Make it user friendly too, ok?

I criticised here for the good of improvement.

Regards,

I’d need to know why it doesn’t match inside words. I can understand it would return much more results, but it’s very frustrating now + we have “sort by relevance”.

Would implementing Google custom search be an option?

The update queue is buggy for a year now and nothing have change.

Staff doesn’t talk on the forum anymore like Jeffrey and Jarel used to do, they come and chime in only when there is a problem. There’s no community anymore, no blog, we had a competition because I complained like crazy and now, who knows when the next one will appear …

It took 1 week to figure out how to fix a simple list of popular author.

Referrals system is just ridiculous, you get 30% of the first deposit and then you get nothing even if the user deposit 1,000,000$ in his account, wich is insanely frustrating.

Replying to comment on item is a MESS when the conversation goes up to 4-5 reply you have to find the very first post by the user to reply to it … they can’t even add a “REPLY” button to all comments … can you imagine how they will never make the search better? :)

Don’t expect anything new. Everything will stay as it is.

But still .. TF is a great place .. just don’t expect any changes .. I realized it an accepted it .. it was long but I did and now I work on my stuff and I make good cash … I guess that’s what’s important.

Envato reached a point where it is self sufficient .. they don’t need to improve it until another big player come and take them some market, but it won’t happen .. it’s like a big snowball that keep getting bigger and bigger (because of talented author that contribute to TF) , even if you want it to stop, it wont, it will only get bigger .. why would you improve it?

It’s like a walmart .. price are so low, item are quite good quality and there will always be someone to work there so even if someone complain, they dont give a shit .. there will be someone else to take your place .. that’s how it is.

But hey, it’s Envato’s birthday soon right? August … there you will see some crazy advertisement everywhere :) I think they keep the promotion budget of all the year just for that birthday stuff .. And it will do like last year, author’s sales will drop like crazy lol

They can be big and good company at same time. If they thing that they will last forever, it’s a mistakes. They should learn from other giants that felt.

We don’t want super new features, we just want the things we already have now work properly. Wouldn’t be better to have community where we are all happy?

If Envato wants to play the big evil [cupcake] company, it’s they right. But it’s a really bad choice.

I think they need more staff. People to fix the site, more reviewers, etc. But every new person has to get paid, and that means less profit for Envato. I can’t say I really blame them, though.

So, just because you got big now can you offer low quality services? Sorry dude, but this is not the spirit.

I believe they are just doing this because they are the lonely in the marketing. Our hope is a new big player get into the market too. Competition is wonderful. Monopoly is bad.

I dont personally think they are alone, but they are big and popular..specially themeforest.

I have the same problem with the search function, but I solved my problem with google. Lol… if Im looking for something specific, let’s say a theme for a restaurant, I type “restaurant theme themeforest” and works like charm…. ;)

I know something big is comming, Envato’s bday maybe…

@DDStudios: Boy! You’re pissed off!

And i agree with the search option. It should be more specific. Or give more advanced options, like layout (2 columns, 3 columns, etc), base colors, price range, etc
