OrangeIdea if someone would take Builder, change the colors, add a border and upload it tomorrow, I’m sure you wouldn’t say anything, am I right? I’m sorry, but seriously, I can’t see how that theme has anything unique / didn’t steal SCRN. Maybe I’m crazy, but when there’s lot of people telling me about this theme that it’s a copy, it surely means I’m not that crazy.
If someone would take Builder, i would do nothig :) Just for example, few days ago i’ve purchased “TOP SELLER ( $40 )” theme and you know what i found? I found entire sections of code from Kriesi’s works, author even didnot rename functions :) its just – kriesi_paginations, kriesi_breadcumbs… lol isn’t it?

He didn’t change the function names because those functions are open source code by Kriesi which anyone can get from his blog :)

Looks like no DMCA needed, he deleted it by himself. :D Or a reviewer, who knows.

HI, I am the author of the theme that is discussed here.

I haven’t tried to copy the theme. The problem with the title came from the fact that I copied the part after the name (Responsive Parallax etc.) from the SCRN template and forgot to edit the name (SCRN to Lex). After my theme was soft rejected I saw the problem in the title and wrote a note to the reviewer but it wasn’t changed after it was approved. I immediately contacted Envato about the problem but their answer took too long. I waited and then decided do delete the item and resubmit it with the correct name because yes, it seems ridiculous.

I want to say that it’s my template created from the zero. As can be seen in themes like Ego and Kutcher – there are a lot other themes with this parallax effect. And the effect if I am not mistaken began to be popular after Nike implemented it in their site.

I really didn’t wanted to lie, be a copycat or something like that. And I really cannot see the problem with a portfolio with a parallax effect.

If there are functions and plugins with the same names – it’s because they are open source, from tutorials, or otherwise for public use and not taken from the SCRN template.

You have to come with a new design too, not just a new name and pictures. Period.

Not a single thing from your theme is unique and most of the pages and layout is based on SCRN. And as far as I know, one item that was deleted from ThemeForest can’t be resubmitted later on, doesn’t matter if it’s a day after. Otherwise we’d all do this, to get exposure to our items.

From what i know you can’t submit that theme again.

Not because of the “copy” thing, i haven’t seen the theme so can’t say anything about that.

Because you can’t have an item approved, then delete it and then resubmit the same theme, as far as i know. If that was possible then authors who think their newly published theme didn’t start of well they would simply delete it and resubmit next week.

Ahh dang it, while i was writing FinalFantasy already said the same thing :P

Let Envato Support tell him what he has to do.

subsolar it’s a good move to apologize and explain. Let’s hope you are stating the truth and be more careful in future :)

Careful not imitating, at least a minimum of 5 minutes research, a honest attitude to avoid these situations.
