Just saw the new macbook pro and found out that there is no dedicated graphics card. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Yes, I am really curious to see how the Iris Pro (the only GPU on the new base MBPr) stacks up with the Nvidia GT 650M (dedicated GPU on the previous gen MBPr).

Only one MBP has a dedicated video card now – and it’s a Retina model, which is quite expensive (but totally worth it, I love mine).

I just saw that they almost completely removed standard MBPs from their lineup (they’re offering just the 13” regular MBP, the rest are all Retina). Good riddance, legacy hardware :D

Of course, if you hurry and are in luck, you will still find some of the earlier models on sale, at retailers ;)

Personally, I don’t play games on my mac and the Iris Pro is said to offer similar performance to 650m . So I won’t whine about the dedicated video card removal. Now it would be cool if I could afford one of these :D .

Please post here if you can find any benchmarks between the old generation mbp retina and the new generation.

Thanks for link :) . I don’t usually play games on Mac too. I was just wondering if the video card removal has effect on the performance.
