I have issue with timthumb auto image re size script which works well in some servers and doesn’t in some servers even the CHMOD 777 / 755 and GG support enabled.
I have used this script for image slider. The main problem is image is not displaying.
I have googled about the issue but no clue.
I have use this script in my several wp themes, some client report the error and some doesn’t.
any got the same issue?
It didn’t workout even I have gone through this thread
It would be helpful us if any one help on this issue.
Make sure the images are in the same server as the script, the image resizing functions don´t like external images.
Also, make sure not only the folder and the images are CHMODed to 777 but the target folder as well if you are saving them.
There’s also issues with mod_security on some servers especially HostGator, take a look “here”http://code.google.com/p/timthumb/issues/detail?id=8

BioXD first of all thanks for your suggestion, we did all what you pointed out.
still getting the issue.
A good start is pop into the url of the timthumb script:
and see what the error says?
Hey, i had some problems with timthumb before, realized i didnt have an empty folder for the cache directory.
Open up the php file and look for…
// set path to cache directory (default is ./cache) // this can be changed to a different location $cache_dir = './cache';
I simply created an empty folder named “cache” in my theme folder and it worked.
If thats any help to you.
I too run into to many users having issues with TimThumb on my WP themes – its usually a range of issues outside the normal cache folder permissions etc… etc…
The best way to diagnose is to grab the markup from the src of the page that is generating the image and paste it into your browser. It will return, in most cases (unless the host has custom errors), what the problem is and should help you guide your customer.
For example, this is an image generated by timthumb in one of my themes:
strangelife:: I know u have posted your answer like two years back..
but, i just wanted to confirm that your solution actually pointed me in the right direction today…
I checked my theme directory (bought from themeforest), and I found that it has a folder named “cache”..
I then checked the permission, “write” permission was not set. So, I “chmod” it to 777 and it works now..
This is the only thing I changed..
Thanks so much ..
Maybe this would be useful for someone one day..
