Hi everyone.

I am seriously going nuts. I bought a theme here thinking I wouldn’t have to change much and then I end up with one that looks just fine, but doesn’t work properly.

This is the theme I bought:

http://themeforest.net/item/designerwannabe-wordpress-version/112380

First of all,

the contact form: It doesn not send emails to my email that I entered in the settings section nor under the admin profile (same email). So I don’t get any emails.

Secondly, whenever someone posts a comment, I as the admin have to approve. Once I approve, it displays the comment with me as the writer, not the original author. It only happens with this theme as I have tried it with the default theme and there it works fine.

I am turning to the TF community because I have not heard back from the author (oh yeah he doesn’t have to I read that part) nor has TF email support been helping me with my issues. I hope someone can help me get this theme finally to work.

Cheers.

Hey OgGordon,

Just trying to give you an idea on how to fix the problem short term. You can try turning off comment moderation under Settings. This would at least stop the comments from being posted by you.
Settings > Discussion > Before a comment appears
Un-tick: “An administrator must always approve the comment”

Also, make sure your running the latest version of Wordpress 3.0.1. Finally, check the help file and hopefully he will have directions on how to use the contact form. It might be some silly setting your missing.

Reading through the comments, it looks like the author usually responds. How long have you been waiting for him to respond?

Good luck.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I turned of the following options:

An administrator must always approve the comment Comment author must have a previously approved comment

It still does not work, now I just don’t have to approve the comments anymore but people still post with a diff. name but the comment appears as the admin.

Strange.

I reread the help file many times but it only says to select a new page, then select the atribute “contact” on the right and it should be fine. I checked if I spelled my email right and I did. I am clueless now.

I wrote both the author and TF 2 days ago.

Again, appreciate your help.

Well it sounds like a code error in the theme. I’m sure the author will respond even though he’s taking his time. Hopefully the website isn’t completely finished and you can work on the other areas while you await a response.

If worse comes to worse, in another day or so you might make a post to hire somebody for an hour to fix the problem. (Should be a fairly easy fix)

I don’t see a point to “hire” someone to fix a problem the author should fix? If the theme is not working the way how it should either the place where I got it or the author should make it work, otherwise I was sold a malfunction product and deserve a refund.

I don’t buy themes to hire someone else to repair stuff that was suppose to work. If I wanted custom things then I would understand but not what I want is not custom.

Thanks for your response anyways.
