wow .. you guys do a lot of support. I have only two good selling themes, and it takes 30-60min / day to support them.. i provide help and when someone asks “how to do that”, i usually give him the php/css line which he needs to modify, but if he needs more help, i always tell him to find a freelancer.

..or a documentation related to the issue: CSS , PHP, Joomla, etc.

You mean Google, right?

Maybe i’m not a really nice guy after all, but if a client doesn’t know how to do css changes he shouldn’t modify the theme. I can’t do everything for them..

They have an issue, i solved it asap!
They have a quick question, i answer them promptly!

They make me do a custom 5 minutes job for them .. i tell them it costs $50 :D Because otherwise, i would spend my entire day doing custom work for buyers, which is not what i’m payed for..

We spend probably about 1.5-2.5 hours each day here. Buyers expect quite a bit more these days than the last few years. I suppose it could be because of the popularity of “multi-purpose” themes – thus leading an influx of questions & therefore frustrations with themes in general.

Hi,

On this account i have only one WP theme . For this theme we have made over 100 pages of documentation and we also have a YouTube channel created especially for this theme . We spend around 0 – 30 minutes per day on support ( we do have days when no support thread is opened :) ).

On the other account ( where i am partner ) we have 4 guys in our support team that work 8 hours per day.

Best regards, Stefan

Umm, about 2 – 4 hours on average daily, I can do it by myself in 1 – 2 hours no problem, but I’ve recently taken on a support guy (Danny, you’re awesome) so we can take more time with the buyers and give more thorough answers.

EDIT: This thread is 2 years old! Well, things I’ve noticed over the past 2 years: buyers expect more in terms of support now more than ever. I think this is because a lot of buyers are end users rather than developers, it’s no problem but it does add an additional burden.
