Top Notch Designer looking for Top Notch WP Developer

Hello, starting in March, I will be designing some themes for TF. I want to hire/partner with a coder who has experience coding Wordpress themes and is easy to work with. I’m a talented designer and have been freelancing for over 10 years. I’m looking to make a change and been wanting to get into this market. I believe I can deliver some very beautiful designs, that are very different from the typical seen here. My goal is to push the theme design to a new level and be a top seller.

I don’t really want to burst your bubble, and although those sites are OK, none would be approved on TF.

Current standards on Themeforest are ridiculously high and get higher by the day.

I wasn’t referring to it being custom, more like spacings, hierarchy, typography, these should be present no matter what the design or site.

iKreativ is right, the standarts here are different, in most cases they have little common with great design but this is how things work here. You should simply adapt your style for TF and this have NOTHING to do with your design skills. Also, be aware that it depends on the category you are submitting in – some have more requirements.

I have to disagree. You do not have to adapt your style to clean-n-simple-blah-blah-responsive. But good selling item must be:

- insanely customisable – your buyers will be webmasters and dev enthusiasts

or

- really gorgeous – your buyers will “mere mortals”. BTW webmasters will hate you because complex layout is hard to customize

Combine both – and you will rule this place:)
