Are you talking about a WordPress theme? You need to unzip the file you downloaded and upload the theme inside it. Please see Common ‘Broken Theme’ and ‘Stylesheet Missing’ WordPress Issues
Please also be sure that you have purchased a WordPress theme, and not an HTML Template, for example.

I did unzip it. Its a HTML5 template. is this an issue with wordpress ?

It’s simple HTML Template, not Wordpress Theme. You can not use it in WordPress. You can find WordPress Themes here

You would need to have an understanding of HTML and CSS to setup the template for your site. If you’ve made a mistake with your purchase please contact Support and they’ll be able to help you out.
