I think a lot of buyers will just wait for bundles now if they’re this often?

Perhaps it’s time to add an indicator to the item page, showing when it was last available in a bundle. That way, a buyer can easily see if a file hasn’t been bundled recently, and is thus likely to end up in a bundle soon, allowing them to wait for a bit and get it at a huge discount :sarcasm: Kind of like the Macrumors buyersguide

We could have flashing red exclamation marks, warning buyers not to buy something right now, but instead to wait until they get another couple (quite identical) themes with it for free (as well as an animation of a bouncing frog!) :chuckle: Everybody’s a winner!

Ok, please run 10 bundles per month.

But just curious when the entire marketplace search system going to be improved? It is a boring job for growth team isn’t it? Bundles may not affect regular items but only when search system helps straightforward purchases.

Title says: Trying Something New – Mini Bundles

It is a shame that you guys never try even something obvious for search system but Bundles are the only innovation spot recently?

I think there will be more.

for each marketplace ( 8 ) we will have 2 to 4 bundles in different categories

8×4=32 bundles.

but those will be for 14 days only so in a month we can get to 60 or more minibundles

awesome!

Once upon a time there was this thingie called “Bargain basement” (at least on AudioJungle, and on a few other marketplaces, I believe). The point was to let old and “buried” but quality files get exposure once again by putting them there and lowering the price. Imho, that was way better as it was promoting single files. Yes, they were way cheaper than regularly, but even so they sold individually and after they get removed from Bargain basement, they still got their download stats and everything, and some of those files kept selling afterwards as well.

Anyway, Bargain Basement was cancelled because it was not a success.

So how can these micro-bundles be success? Probably Envato gets bigger cut from bundles than with bargain basement. Plus, Bargain basement wasn’t advertised much. (Many people were even unaware of it, because the link to it was also buried :D )

The way I see it now, all these bundles are very bad. Okay, you get your item bundled, you get “loads” of money for it and then what? Bundle ends, it’s page gets removed, all the stats are gone, your item stays buried (if it was buried in the first place, as bundles tend to contain only the good-sellers, not the buried quality files anyway).

Did not know about this. I really hope it’s not true.

nobody make bundles for potato or bread. what is selling is selling. those quests for bundles make me wonder if this market / platform wasn’t reach its saturation point. or, maybe a bad management behind increase the costs and kill slowly something what was working ok.

Half-of-Item Bundle!

I’m curious. The tiny bundle will have the same rules of no-support&no-updates?

From item description:

Please note: Due to the exclusive nature of the Mini Bundle, the bundle items are purchased ‘as-is’, meaning that the items in this bundle are not eligible for item support or updates.

It’s great to see how envato reacts to a 32 page long thread complaining about the bundle strategie: MORE BUNDLES!

It is getting ridiculous and if envato likes to make a bundle (excuse me, mini bundle, as they are called now) every day then we should give every author the option to make his own bundles like at audiojungle. This way we can ruin this marketplace ourselves and give all our files away for free.

And yes, that’s a bundle badge under my avatar.
