Firstly please do not self – promote in the forums.

Second as a heads up, if you are offering translation services then really your language skills need to be spot on. I work for an agency offering professional web translation and I can assure you when it comes to translating some websites, the technical language or purpose and key messaging in the native language can be very hard to convey accurately in any other language without complete fluency.

The English in your posts is good but not fluid.

Yes, you are partially right. But I have many experiences. My language skills: %72 writing, %84 speaking and %79 Listening but translating skills: %94! And I emphasize that technical language is easy for me to translating. And I feel sure of myself.

Do not get me wrong – I have no doubt in your ability to speak, listen or translate English, and it is an interesting proposition for a marketplace like this. Even technical language is easy to deal with even if it requires a dictionary or Google translate.

However with respect, even in your post just now there are English mistakes and in a 3 line space that should not really be the case from someone offering translation services.

The biggest challenge that you will face (and this is something that even some of our bi-lingual translators can suffer from) is not the technical language but more the purpose and messaging that content is trying to convey.

In many scenarios literal translation is useless and bears no meaning in regard to the original context. In some cases there is no real way to say the same thing in a different language, requiring careful native alternatives to be structured to achieve the same goals.

Understanding the specific messaging, context and purpose of copy on websites or offline requires far more than the ability to translate.

If that skill is not there then the site may end up in actual fact saying something very different. This or even worse poor use of language or even errors in the translation can have a very negative and detrimental influence on the site and brand.

Good luck with you plans
