U-Design theme shortcode

I’m using the code for Home Page Before Content” Widget Area for the [one_third_last] I would like to add a video there. do I need a shortcode? just get the embed code from youtube? can I use jwplayer shortcode. curious.

Also is there a way to size that area, instead of one_third maybe one_half?
