Many here is complaining about less exposure for new items. But how important is this actually? How much of this exposure actually leads to sales? I just tried to browse all items on Audiojungle and sort by date to get the newest items first. On the 3 first pages 2 items had sold once. The rest had 0 sales. So my question is. How many items does actually sell when they are on the first page?

Not taking parts in the design debate here, but I think maybe some authors seem to overvalue this new item exposure a bit. But maybe this effect is different for other envato sites?

I think the banners at the bottom are not accurate, because the authors already receive this information in the “Dashboard”.

And I do not understand because they have the same height as the “new items”.

Well U-Design is about to get a load more sales if the suggested search is “responsive wordpress”

That’s the idea I think, but I guess what else would you put? I think it was like that before actually so that’s just one of those things!

Exposure is everything.

Exposure is everything.

Only if it leads to sales. But I see now that on some of the marketplaces a lot of the new items have actually sold. But on AJ and a couple of others this does`t seem to have much effect. That`s probably why our opinion differ here ;)

Hours has passed away since envato made this mess and still no sales, coincidence or not my sales has stopped since this ‘brilliant’ idea from envato came out. Everything was fine with old homepage now no sales I am worried since this is my work for living. Other authors have mentioned their sales has stopped too. Coincidence???

I don’t think it’s a coincidence… even without seeing sales stats – it’s logical that if visible links are removed to where your items can be found – like a category section, then you’ll get a drop in exposure / sales.

That category drop down doesn’t even have a “mouse over” hand cursor.. like the other buttons do on Google Chrome – it appears disabled on first glance, even the faded grey look, makes it look disabled – that’s definitely going to decrease click rate!

I think the job here is to improve things if envato staff is being alerted sales from authors has stopped they need to do something since they also get money with new/small authors.

I think they prefer to focus on the popular items, they want to get Power Elites to outer space – if they do, they’ll be world famous for internet start-ups. If they make it a more fair and competitive environment, they’ll achieve those goals slower. This is their 2020 vision. – it’s obvious now. This is why they’re creating those Steve Jobs type videos, Envato is thinking very big. This is not a visual refresh, it’s tweaking the site to speed up the progress of the Elite progam.
