I just wanted to add to the “home page paranoia” that since the begining of August sales are very good a lot better then in July and I haven’t released anything new….
Maybe is just paranoia or maybe you are one of those who gets benefits from the new huge search box. I don’t know which are the words most often used by buyers but if you type in “Multi-purpose responsive theme” or “Responsive theme” your last theme appears on the first page in the search results. Maybe this is why you have good sales compared to last month.

I also have really good sales this week.. Maybe you just have to configure your description page better? With keywords, tags, etc..

I think the “home page paranoia” is warranted considering we’ve been asking for better home page exposure for years, and then when the homepage is finally “enhanced” we get visible links which were important to exposure “hidden” in a dodgy drop down, which was not clearly labelled and without a hand cursor roll over. One click is better than two click, no hand cursor is bad for click rate – that’s logical.

Envato is a big company with 200 employees – do we not think they’d check this stuff before hand? do we honestly think their development team would launch an update without a hand cursor to 1000’s of world class front end developers? And all this on the back of news of scaling up the Elite program… whether intentional or not, Envato should play smarter than that.

Keep in mind Envato, we have an agreement when we sign up, we provide the stock, Envato provides the platform to sell on and you receive commission per sale. If we ask for improvements which are reasonable and requested by many and you change the platform to make it harder to get exposure – then you should expect a riot.

But I’m glad that you have now clearly labelled it as “All Categories” and added the hand cursor back – so we’re making progress. But it still doesn’t excuse why we should point out the obvious. Some of us will be watching closely to the next couple of updates, so please don’t let us down – afterall all we want is a better marketplace for the community. Play smart and build a sustainable ecosystem, because it will pay off in the long term.

Now this is perfectly sad in fact so well sad that if you ever visit Slovenia you have a bear from me :) The only problem is that agreement does not protect us in this manor our saying on the platform for which we do pay and pay quite a lot, but our voices hit to many walls :)

Best reason left is to develop for big categories like Wordpress, Joomla… because there is a lot of aggregators that grabs content and promotes your item (via affiliate links). Noticed that html is not that popular (of course it’s more cheaper)... and even best part of that, those blogs doing every month or even more frequently posts: 40 most popular blah blah blah themes. So you get that exposure from them as well. My opinion that wordpress themes will heart less all this home page changes…

you’ll give me a bear? Sounds awesome haha.. and I’ll have a beer with u too :) but I’d like to add I don’t want a riot, we just want to make cool stuff and sell them! So I think the louder the collective voice, the easier it will be to be heard.

Man, we don’t have enough bears to give them away :D

Anyways, is ” e.g. ‘responsive wordpress’ ” really the best text to have in the search bar? Seems like it adverts wordpress even more, whereas everything on the page is responsive. I suppose it would be better to have few examples like “responsive wordpress”, “restaurant”, “minimalistic creative”, “tumblr blog” etc… circling to stimulate the clients.

I never been to Slovenia but handling bears as gifts when it comes to showing gratitude does somehow sound right.. I mean I would have totally believed it. ;)
