If you would like us to clarifying any transaction on your statement, we’re happy to do so. Simply submit a support ticket. Sometimes a reversed number listed on your statement may be something other than a reversed purchase (eg. an earnings withdraw).

No, my bad sorry.

It’s the email Paypal send you (a Seller) when someone files a chargeback with their credit card.

I’m just trying to show how it’s out of Envato’s hands as the money is deducted from their account straight away – so deducting it from the Author’s account is the obvious domino effect. And even sometimes you get charged extra as a Paypal ‘seller’ for the chargeback investigation itself.

So Envato could be being charge more on top of the actual refund.

Really, Envato deserve a big thumbs up for paying Authors sales regardless of refunds for all this time.

If you’ve had something deducted, in no way is Envato ‘to blame’.

Why no-one from Envato confirms whether both the Badge & the Rating is removed from that specific account, and even more, the account is getting disabled (if no reason is given for the reversal?). Also, what measures does Envato takes to protect the authors from further invalid purchases, like banning IP’s and such. Also how can we know why the money got refunded? we must contact support for each and every refund to find out what was the reason?

Looks like this payment issue is very abroad, global and need a deep research..

And maybe Envato can make an association with other marketplaces to make an approach directly to Paypal.

Maybe.. Just a thought.

Purchase tag and ratings MUST be removed if a buyer does this! We don’t get the money, and we get a 1 star rating? Thats just bad! The rating should also be removed in case of a reversal!

Have no fear about the purchase badge. These get automatically removed or are made invalid when a sale is reversed so you won’t have to worry about giving out support for those accounts.

Hi Pricop,

I can confirm that the the ratings and the ‘purchased’ badge (that shows up in item comments) is removed when these ‘sale reversal’ (sometimes called a chargeback) transaction types occur. This is when the chargeback has already happened.

In the case of a ‘dispute’ (before a chargeback is completed), we are notified by the payment provider and we work to resolve the dispute with the buyer before it progresses any further. We are definitely committed to continuing to work closely on these events so we can prevent as many reversals and disputes as possible.

At this point we don’t have any notifications going to the author as to the reason for the dispute but you raise some good feedback we will talk about what can be done here. For the time being though, yes, please contact Support if you are concerned about a particular transaction on your statement.
