FWDesign, agree that JS is versatile enough to some extent and the frameworks reduces the development time; still the problem is with CSS standards, browser and devices. The real background of Front end is so complex as mentioned here, that will fit even on around 2022:

Btw, looking at the activetuts+ being dropped I doubt the time is nearing to close new submissions on AD too

I just wanted to add that in my opinion flash will live on! is just that it is not used as in the past, I still get work in flash mainly full websites but I have to create a mobile version too this is the only difference, the mobile version is something simple…
I don’t see html5 to replace flash any time soon maybe never.

I noticed this trend a while ago, around 2009 to be precise. Then the iPad was out and it was clearer. I hate to say it, but I hate navigating full Flash websites. Never been a fan, and never understood their need, even though we built some, for the money.
The truth is Flash helped me start as a developer, and helped me notice the web. Now that I’ve grown up with it, I know it’s not about Flash. It’s about what delivers the same experience Flash did. And yes, Flash will be out in 2 to 5 years. That is not a problem, because we still need the same multimedia interactivity – be it audio, video, images, or a combination of the three + text.
What we have today in ActiveDen is what people need because of the interactivity, not because these are built with Flash. So focus on delivering the same things to your clients, using a non-Flash language.
We focused on mobile and social media + web. I personally focus more on creative + looking into design / photography. I was expecting more Flash Devs to go on the creative side, instead of the coding dark side.

Not necessary, we can celebrate the great past!
I don’t think even this guy would be much depressed with decline of Flash. We all have a stage when we should digest big changes.
