Hey guys..
Know what’s frustrating? Having a bug in a file that’s currently on the front page. There’s an update in the update queue, but it’s been in there for 5 days
New feature suggestion:
a) A seperate queue for files that require urgent updates (so that’d be files that are brand new, for example)
b) Another update reviewer.

oh man…. not the update queue again![]()
I know, I know, ‘not this thread again’.. but the thing is, it keeps being an issue.
Perhaps the answer lies with a different policy: once an author has established himself, he’s able to update with his file going live before review, and then it’s reviewed afterwards? Or does this still bring too many risks? Or at least the preview? I mean, we’re able to freely update the description as well (with images and so) so I don’t see why we shouldn’t be allowed to get a new preview live before it went through the queue.

Way to many risks. If someone gets pissed at the system for whatever reason, he can change his video player into a porn player for example, drastically reducing the quality of the marketplaces. Just one such event would go a long long way.
I’d rather say ” Not this thread again ” than read on Digg what some douche did because he was angry he got rejected in the past or whatever other reason there may be.
Edit: + Viruses + Destroying the initial quality that the review accepted, + How do you establish when an author can be trusted? ... even if you know him personally there are still risks…

+1 on the update your self thing
The reasons you presented are not even 1% valid. You can already do that if you have a live preview set up on your server + you can do it in the descriptions, write a link that goes where it shouldn’t go
+ no one is that stupid to mess up a preview intentionally.

Keep thinking before posting, or better yet, read the upload instructions before posting. Then try doing what I just said and knock-yourself out as you get banned
If they are not valid then why don’t they allow it ? Think again .
I think more man power is the best solution. To many crazies out there ^
