That doco link is all fixed now. I’ve also added a link into the sidebar so you can find it more easily (under the about section)

nice one Ryan, guessed it was down as the API was disabled and its automated docs…

Did you guys make changes to limit calls per minute? Hope so :(

It appears that the item thumbnails are broken. When echoing the item thumbnail url I get: “http://themeforest.net133972.jpg”. Any ideas?

It does appear to be a bug. However, it is easily fixed by correcting the string (at least until they officially fix it :) ):

Simply insert ’/files/’ (without the apostrophes) in between ’.net’ and the rest of the string. So, for example, you’d have your code change the above URL string from this:

http://themeforest.net133972.jpg

to this:

http://themeforest.net/files/133972.jpg

Hope that helps.

I have another question though. Is there any way to get a list of all of the items a specified user has uploaded (either by marketplace or globally), along with a URL of each item?

{note to envato} since you’re api is still a bit lacking, I’m using some curl to parse search results from your search page. You can stop me if you don’t like it. my bot’s name is simple “jerniganibot/0.1”

G’day! No worries! We can add a search bit to the API for you so you don’t have to do any nasty HTML parsing and etc.

What else is lacking with the API that you could use? Suggestions are welcome and encouraged!

hmm a ratio of listen-count to buys

Ive bought quite a few items, and im wondering if theirs anyway to check via the api.

The API doesn’t include that information, but you personally can figure it out by counting the number of items on the downloads page – http://themeforest.net/user/chrismccoy/downloads

It displays 20 items per page, so if you had seven pages and the seventh page had 4 items on it you would have 6 * 20 + 4 = 124 items purchased.

Hope that helps :-).
