I know there’s been threads on this before about somehow notifying buyers that files have been updated by email notifications, etc…

But what about just adding a simple icon on the themes archives page that says “UPDATED 6/4”, did a quick little mockup:

gonna have to say -1 as buyers would immediately favour files that have been updated and perhaps not purchase files with no updates as much as if they had updates even though updates aren’t mandatory…?

It is unnecessary to inform the update details outside the item page. I think the update details can be explained better in the item description area itself.

well that not really true or very fair, its very annoying to work hard on an update to a file and then no one knows about it. Showing the icon in the search result means buyers might have a second look at your file.

I don’t think he meant it as a means to show potential buyers that a file has been updated as much as he meant it to display to previous buyers that there is an update available to download. To make sure that people that have already purchased the file, take advantage of the update and download the most recent, best working version.

And I really like the idea, but agree with Chuck. Never really thought about it, but technically you can inform people of updates by changing the thumbnail to display the update info…great idea!
