I apologize if this information is somewhere easily found, but I did searches both in TF and Google and could not find the information.
If I purchase a theme (in this case an HTML template), and the author updates the theme with fixes, new features, etc., are these updates free, or would I need to purchase the theme again?

You’ll always have free access to the latest versions of the files you purchase. When an item has been updated it’s just a case of grabbing the files again from your ‘Downloads’ section.
