Short Story:

Got a new item … after first 3 ratings I got 4 stars. I buyer had a problem asked for support, he said he rated the item 1 star (my item general score was 3), but the problem was fixed (wasn’t my plugin :D) and he said he updated the rating to 4.

The problem was that my items still had a 3 star.

“You sure?”
“Yes, and probably I will rate it 5 because is exactly what I need.”

The buyer has a few more questions … but the general rating is still 3. “What about the rating?”
“Sure I updated it.”

You realize I couldn’t believe it. New item with a 3 rating, but I had some positive feedback and I didn’t receive any complaints to suggest the general rating of 4 in the first place.

What do I do know … I couldn’t accuse the buyer of lying (maybe he did actually gave me a good rating), so I wanted to test if the system actually is OK.

I created a second account and bought my own item (I know I’m a jerk) and I gave myself a rating of 5, general rating jumped to 4, after I changed the rating to 1. The general rating stayed to 4. It should have been 3 if not 2. WHY DIDN ’T IT CHANGE ?

I would have contact support but you have a response time worst then mine … and I got married last weekend and being upset at the moment is an understatement. Also I will like a refund for the purchase I have done to test this.

I already pointed this out sometime ago, but by the time support got to me, the rating already increased(someone rated the item 5 stars, so it got back to 5 stars). But i am also 99% sure that updating a rating doesn’t work :) and i know because i’ve also tested it :D

It will need to go to the devs for inspection. Most likely the ratings get updated on the server end every x hours or so. Thanks for sending in a ticket, if you message me the ID I ’ll try to take a look sometime today. :)

I don’t know if this is related but once observed that one of my item with around 1500 sales didn’t receive even single rating for more than 150 continuous sales. Later it was ok but number of ratings seems to be too low than average, for example 1 rating out of 21 sales which is too low not to doubt.
